developed for patients by a patient who needed exactly this
Your patients leave the table feeling open. By Thursday, they're locked up again. It isn't your work — it's the homework problem. Foam rollers hurt. Lacrosse balls bruise. Massage guns trigger the bracing they're supposed to relieve. Every cringe makes them less likely to follow through on their HEP — so plans of care unravel and the next session starts at damage control.
The (un)Block™ works differently. Wide, stable, bodyweight-loaded compression — cringe-free by design — melts densified hyaluronic acid back into a lubricating fluid. No rolling, no bracing, no white-knuckling.
Two ways it earns a place in your practice:
- Take-home homework tool. One patients actually reach for so your plan of care has a chance to carry over between sessions.
- Table-side prep. Place it under them while you work the top side. Their bodyweight passively decompresses the table-side tissue — warmer and more receptive when they flip, no extra effort from you.
In active clinical use by massage therapists in the US and Canada, a Canadian physiotherapist, a PhD-level athletic therapist, and a junior hockey team's athletic trainer — adopted word of mouth, no marketing.

the precision tool in the (un)Block™ lineup
The mini goes where the large can't. Narrower and lighter, it reaches the smaller targets — psoas, TFL, patellar tendon, bridge of the nose, the space between ribs. Used on its tall edge it's a fist. Used on its side it's a smaller forearm. Corners for trigger point work. For targeted release work, it's the right tool for the job.
The mini is the most travel-friendly of the two — under 2oz and sized for a carry-on pocket, it's the one patients actually pack. If your patient is buying their first (un)Block, this is the lowest-commitment entry point.
Most benefit from the complete set — but a mini pairs well with an existing large or makes a low-barrier starting point for the reluctant patient.
Best for: psoas, TFL, piriformis, plantar fascia, bridge of nose, patellar tendon, biceps, triceps, neck. Used in our signature trap flossing™ technique to release tight upper shoulders.

- precision geometry. Broad smoothed contours mimic the wide pressure of your forearm or fist. Purpose-built for recovery, not yoga.
- load modulation. Lying down, sitting, or standing options for how much pressure they apply. A flat surface is less intense and more stable than a roller or ball. They can anchor as deeply as they can tolerate without crossing into cringe.
- thixotropic melting. Firm, high-density material anchors the fascia. Sustained, stable compression converts sticky hyaluronic acid back into a lubricating fluid — restoring tissue glide.
- nervous system consequence. Cringe-free pressure signals safety. Their nervous system downregulates, stress hormones drop, and thixotropy is unimpeded.
- specs: 6.5 L x 3 W x 3" H (16.5 x 7.6 x 7.6cm) — 1.8oz (52g). Hypoallergenic high-density foam, designed for structural anchoring, not squish.
- care: Clean with a non-toxic wipe or warm soapy water. Air dry.
- practitioner integration: the unwind body works professional development modules teach the four-block method, parasympathetic activation, weight modulation for thixotropic release, and heart-brain coherence pairing.
The (un)Block also fits a performance-oriented active lifestyle. You're managing your recovery in-between sessions with your care team.
You've tried foam rollers, lacrosse balls, and massage guns and want a tool that doesn't punish the body it's supposed to help.
The mini is your travel companion and targeted complement — it goes everywhere and reaches spots the large can't.
If you want the time-saving full method, the complete set is where you start.
